Have you ever felt like you were carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders? Then, you've experienced emotional pain in the body. This pain comes from emotional overload, even if you are great at stuffing it down or ignoring your emotional feelings. That emotional energy goes somewhere and that somewhere is in the body. There's an entire book by an amazing doctor that covers this called, "The Body Keeps the Score". You can grab your copy here.
Here's the thing about emotional pain in the body, it is stored there and muscle memory via the somatic nervous system ensures that every time you feel similar those same areas contract in response. When this becomes chronic, you end up with lasting pain, sensory motor amnesia, and inability to relax the muscles. You might seek massage therapy and even experience some relief, but the relief doesn't last and before you know it, the same area has tightened back up. That's because nothing was done to actually repattern the muscle memory in relation to the emotional response and it is exactly what makes Somatic Reset Therapy different.

Even traditional neuromuscular therapy left out important aspects required to actually create a new muscular holding pattern. Updates in neuroscience has helped me to better understand how to involve the brain to truly create changes in the body that are longer lasting, more effective, and easy to do even outside the treatment room.
Yes, that's right. This type of treatment doesn't require you to come back weekly, which is bad for me, but it's good for saving you money! I got into this field to help people and I'm doing a disservice if I don't help to the best of my ability. I know a lot of people enjoy traditional style of massage and certainly it has it's own benefits, but if you're seeking pain relief from chronic tension and feel stressed-out, overwhelmed, carrying sadness, grief, or anger that is contributing to the tension you are feeling, Somatic Bodywork is far more helpful. Even the Somatic Reset Yoga teaches you somatic based movements to free up tension and repattern muscle tension, so that you can experience relaxation and peace in your body again.
When you're ready to try a different approach and experience actual lasting change, come see me for somatic work. There's a reason I spent the last 5 years dedicated to studying it.
